Philips Hue | Holiday and Celebration Scheduling

While I adore my Philips Hue lights, like many other users, I wish there was an option to schedule and automate holiday lights in advance. Currently, there are no predefined holiday scenes, and users cannot schedule their light colors in advance. Which seems odd considering they are known for providing a wide spectrum of colors.

I dug deeper into this problem, and what other customers are doing. Many are struggling to find a solution and wish it was a possibility within the app. Many customers have resorted to relying on third-party solutions to schedule their holiday lights, but this adds an unnecessary level of complexity by introducing another platform to their smart home system.

I figured I could help out Philips Hue by mocking up what holiday scene scheduling could look like within their own app, in hopes it could come to life.

Recommended Solution

An opportunity to enhance the existing Hue scene gallery would be to add a dedicated holiday gallery. In this gallery, users can easily switch between creating an ambiance lighting experience or setup their lights for holidays.

Additionally to the holiday gallery, the opportunity arises to create customize scenes for personal celebrations like birthdays, graduations, or local celebrations.

Lastly, introducing an advanced scheduling feature ensures that your lights automatically align with your planned celebrations, taking the worry out of manually managing them.
